199. Sudstache

199. Sudstache

Washing dishes...

198. Mood moustache # 5

198. Mood moustache # 5

When in doubt, draw a cartoon...
I'm not sure what this mood is... Maybe a smooth talker?
One of these days I'll get around to figuring out how to make a gif. Then, I could really make them talk.

197. Sculpey 'stache (#2)

197. Sculpey 'stache (#2)

Another prototype (below # 1). This one with thicker hooks and spots for possible screws.

196. Sculpey 'stache (prototype)

196. Sculpey 'stache (prototype)

This was an early prototype for hookstache, made out of plain, peachy sculpey. It helped me get an idea of what form the hook should take. I needed thicker hooks, for a start.

194: Clip 'stache

194: Clip 'stache

This clip is for carrying two small tubes - namely epipens (in case of allergic reaction).
Two clips make a moustache...

191. Sleepy 'stache

191. Sleepy 'stache

Having fun with these moody moustaches. Maybe I will work up a spoof of that "how are you feeling today" cartoon...

Today, it's "sleepy."

190. Ornery 'stache

190. Ornery 'stache

This could be any number of expressions, but I guess ornery just about covers it.

189: Sadstache

189: Sadstache

Another cartoon, a fair reflection of today:

188. Mr. Moustache

188. Mr. Moustache

Another character, but this time I skipped the produce section.
Maybe a mascot of sorts. A cheerful moustache wearing a moustache.

187: Character Study: Floyd Pomidoro

187: Character Study: Floyd Pomidoro

This is Floyd from the IT department.
Olive-eyed Floyd is a laid-back type with a mischievous sense of humor.
This is a still from his screen test.
And this one is later on, chilling with Larry:

Once again, no resemblance or reference to any real persons is intended.

186: Character Study: Larry Appleton

186: Character Study: Larry Appleton

This is Larry from the accounting department.
A serious type, a carrot top with a comb-over... or is it a toupee?
This is actually an old(ish) photo - I had an elaborate video featuring stop motion animated fruits and vegetables planned for my hookstache project, and Larry here was going to explain everything in a clear and concise manner. Then I realized I'd never animated anything before. Ever. It seemed too complicated, and fruits and vegetables can be so unreliable. So this is Larry's screen test atop the stove.
No resemblance to or reference to any actual persons is intended.

184: Door Hook

184: Door Hook

I thought it might be fun to give a look at the hook that inspired my hookstache enterprise.
This is on the back of a closet door. I thought it looked a bit like a moustache, which got me thinking... and turning all kinds of other ordinary things into moustaches.

183: Hookstache

183: Hookstache

Halfway there! Half a year!
To celebrate, I've launched a kickstarter campaign for hookstache, which is a wall hook shaped like a moustache. You can find the whole thing here. This is the idea that launched my obsession with moustaches, and, as a result, this blog. I hope you like it.

181: Parentheses

More fun with punctuation marks and symbols:

180: Tilde

180: Tilde

After playing with brackets and braces the other day, I realized that the tilde also makes a perfectly fine moustache. When doubled, that is....

178. Shrubstache

178. Shrubstache

These came from some variety of evergreen shrub, not sure what kind.

176. Tuba

176. Tuba

Another one from the brass section...

This tuba isn't mine... it's from here. with CC-A-SA license.

175. Cornet

175. Cornet

Another musical moustache. A cornet, which is a lot like a trumpet, as far as moustaches go.
These recent ones reveal the truth - it's all just a matter of arrangement.

174. Centipede

I don't have an actual centipede around to use, so, here's a nice doubled-up drawing:

173. Skeleton Keys

173. Skeleton Keys

Perhaps to go with the lock and keyhole from before...?

172. Bracket

172. Bracket

I'm not the first to suggest that brackets ...  or braces... or whatever you call these - { } - look a bit like moustaches. There's a surprising degree of variation among fonts, and it's fun to look through them.
Here, to demonstrate, is my old friend, Times New Roman:

170. Fingerstache

170. Fingerstache

Another  busy day at moustache central. Just getting this in under the wire.
A variation on the finger moustache for printers, sign makers, and those who wish to point the way.

168: Key hole

168: Key hole

I am at OSCON this week with my printmobile. This is inspired by the open source hardware logo, which I played with a little below.

166. Crab claws #2

166: Crab claws #2

The last of the crab pictures. A single claw, found on the beach and doubled.

164: Crab Claws

164. Crab Claws

A bit gruesome, perhaps. I found this on the beach, just as it is in the photo in a semi-imperial formation.

163: Seaweed 'Stache (#2)

163: Seaweed 'Stache (#2)

Another type of seaweed, another style of 'stache. This bunch of seaweed seemed pretty attached to its spot in the sand, so I just moved the pieces around.

162: Seaweed 'Stache (#1)

162: Seaweed 'Stache (#1)

Another one from the shore: arranged seaweed...

161: Sandstache

161: Sandstache

Had a wonderful day on the Oregon coast, and spent some time moustache making and hunting. Here's the first one, a simple moustache drawn in the sand.

160: Padlock

160: Padlock

A bit on the abstract side, but just look at that handlebar!

159. Rubber Bulb Syringe

159. Rubber Bulb Syringe

Rubber bulbs have all kinds of applications - camera triggers, gag flower water sprayers...  These particular ones are for squirting water into overcrowded ears, but they make a nice moustache, too.

157. Butterfly Moustache

157. Butterfly Moustache

The 1890's saw many trends in facial hair, among them, the "butterfly moustache."

 Here's my version:
